I hold a Bachelor and a Master in Psychology from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), a Master of Clinical Psychology (Post Registration) from the Cairmillar Institute, and a PhD in Health from the University of Technology Sydney. My academic work is dedicated to generating evidence-based insights on how best to support mothers during challenging periods in their lives. For my master's degree, I explored the relational dynamics of families affected by child sexual abuse, interviewing mothers whose children had been victims of sexual abuse. For my PhD, I conducted a mixed-methods study investigating the relationship between social support, depression, and anxiety during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
I have additional training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 2), and Family Systems Therapy / Narrative Therapy (Familiare Institute). I also have training and extensive experience with trauma and domestic violence.
